Stress Reduction Research Assignment and Activity Step 1. Identify ways in which stress and/or anxiety negatively impacts you, try to focus on a specific situation that causes you stress/anxiety (school, family, work, etc)
Step 2. Identify activities or experiences that help with your stress reduction (meditation, exercise, etc)
Step 3. In a group of 3-5 people choose a specific stress and/or anxiety reducing activity or experience and do research on the biopsychosocial impact of stress/anxiety and the biopsychosocial impact of the stress reduction activity or experience: 1. What are the biological/physiological impacts? 2. What are the psychological impacts? 3. What are the social impacts? Research Guidelines: 1. Have at least 1 research study from a reputable source (University studies are often a good place to start) that supports your stress reduction activity/experience 2. Have at least 1 Psychological theory or concept that you can connect to your activity 3. Site all sources in works cited page at the end of your notes Notes, Presentation, and Activity Guidelines: 1. Notes should be collected in a shared google doc. Notes should address the specific requirements of the assignment 2. Presentation should be brief and cohesive focusing on the biopsychosocial benefits of the stress reduction activity/experience. (2-4 minutes) 3. Activity should be fully inclusive to the whole class and should clearly connect to at least one aspect of your presentation. (10-15 minutes)
