AP Psychology Independent Reading Assignment #1 This is an opportunity for you to independently explore an area of psychology that interests you. In this assignment you may focus on any aspect of psychology, which includes the spiritual, neurological, somatic, educational, cultural, etc. You may be interested in the development and diagnosis of personality disorders, or you may be curious about Buddhist Psychology or movement/dance therapy. I would encourage you to do some preliminary research and see what you find.

Assignment Directions: 1. You will be asked to read or listen to the book in its entirety taking notes on each section. Notes should include direct quotations and brief summaries of each section or chapter. 2. Once you have finished the book, you will take your notes and compile a 1 page explanation of the main ideas, theories, and teachings of the book. 3. From your notes and 1 page written explanation you will create a 3-5 minute visual presentation that you will share with the class.
